BF2 Graphics Corruption Problem (Pics)

My system:

Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)

System Memory - 768.5
Processor Speed - 2 ghz
DirectX Version - 9.0c
Display Device - NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GS
Display Memory - 256.0

I have the latest NVidia Display Driver. Whenever i run the game on LOW video settings, i can usually play it for awhile before the graphics start to get corrupted (see pics) The vid card temperature never gets hot.

If i play on HIGH settings, the graphics will become corrupted very quickly. I was told that this video card could handle the graphics so I'm thinkin its not the video card but my memory maybe? Any help is greatly appreciated.

try a driver update, check your psu meets the min requirements and check the temp through nvida control panel!

I've updated all my drivers, everything meets minimum requirements and i've checked the temp through the control panel and it stays in the green......any ideas?

Wait--are you looking back over a graph of your temps while you were playing, or do you check your temps after you shut the game down?

It only takes a few seconds to drop the temp from +90C down to ~60-70C, and those are classic symptoms of overheating, especially when you say that stressing the card (turning up the eyecandy) makes it start artifacting sooner.

You could try clearing your BF2 cache and making the program re-optimize the graphics, but unless you've actually been tracking your temps while the game was going full blast, I'm inclined to suggest you open up your pc and clean out the dustbunnies, leprechauns, and frame-stealing gremlins that are looking for a warm place to sleep.

srry i had to scream it @ OP try logging your gpu status through Ntune or ATItool both work good

i called BFG, my card manufacturer and they told me to switch to the Driver 84.21, and it worked! It all looks good now. But i still get the same problem when i play the game Just Cause. I guess that fix only worked for BF2, thanks for the help guys.

Your RAM is really poor for BF2 over 1 GB is usally good, you have less...

id RMA the card, wouldnt suprise me if its overheating or is faulty as BFG arnt very reliable and OC there products stupidly on stock collers!

you could try a zalman vf900 if its a heat problem it worked for my 7900 gt
