this is going to be a new machine and i dont want to butcher stuff from my current PC its so im able to have 3 PC's at home easier to play good Lan game withs PC's that are all capable of running recent games *cough* C&C3 *cough*

any idea's and changes i would say my budget is around £800 overall inc vat/shipping

You could get 2 segate 120GB HDs and put them in RAID0 that would be a heck of a boost to your system speed!!!!

the seagates are a great drive ive never had any probs with them except filling the space, seriously what am i going to do with 500GB space??? ... anyway the nine hundred has been the best buy ever for my comp before i had a bad case with little air flow n now with the nine hundred my ambient temp has droped an average of 20 degrees

Depending on the status of your current computer, and/or any other computers you own, you may want to "assign roles" to them. For instance: You could use a LAN connection setup for 2 or 3 of them and store data.

Im not sure what type of games you will be playing other than BF2. Depending on what games you plan on using it for, you might want to set it up a bit differently. If you plan on just playing games like BF2 and FEAR and the latest games currently available, it looks like a very nice setup. On the other hand, from the looks of things, you are making one big mistake- the video card. This setup would work very well with the latest line of nVidia cards(DX10-wise). Many people have been able to overclock the cpu you are buying to almost 4 ghz...with no problems. combining this with the best nvidia cards out there will make for a pc that could probably play nextgen games such as crysis and GR:AW as smooth as a hot knife sliding through butter. Also, you will definately want to invest some more money into a decent cooling system for your cpu and gpu. One more thing: remember to routinely dust your hardware and vacuum the case vents- anything heats up, that computer is gonna go down in flames. Maybe not litterally, but if you consider the decent price you are paying for the nice setup, it would be worth it to be a little more aware of the way you handle this baby. So all in all, I'll give this setup 5 stars, even if you stay with your current GPU. It's ne of the nicest price/quality items ive seen yet, and the setup would still probably sell at twice the cost- you made a very good choice in setup

we usually play RTS/RPG so i have a few games that wont always work on the laptop so we dont play so someone doesnt get left out ,

ah you noticed the card thats because im waiting for the ATi DX10 card

Nice price on the nice ram.

The x1950pro is a good way to go to save for DX10 and still get excellent performance.

Have you considered waiting until the C2D April 22 price drop/new model release date?

hmm not really OcUK have always had v.good deals on parts and they get the odd exclusisves aswell,

i tweaked it a bit removed one of the dvd-r/w drives and replaced it with a 80gb sata, i have all the other stuff that i need ive a draw full of cables & thermal paste etc :)
