Building a PC, ideas? Suggestions?

I've done some research but i just want to see what more knowlegable people think.

So far:

-AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Brisbane 2.3GHz Socket AM2 Processor
-MSI K9N4 SLI-F Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 500 SLI MCP ATX
-A-DATA 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
-BFG Tech BFGR88320GTSOCE GeForce 8800GTS 320MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 OC HDCP Video Card
-Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600JS 160GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
-Creative Sound Blaster SB0570 Audigy SE 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card

I'm shooting for sub $900 mainly to play BF2 on all high settings. But i'm also trying to keep my options open for upgrading in the future like a new processor, and perhaps SLI'ing the 8800GTS.

Any suggestions and ideas are welcome and appreciated.

The audigy se is garbage for gaming; no hardware mixing. Audigy 2zs is a good 7.1 budget card that will do HW mixing and Creative sells refurbished ones on Ebay for cheap. If you've got the money, X-fi is also nice, but you might consider just seeing if the onboard is ok before splashing out on the audio card.

Personally, I'd go with a core 2 duo setup (i.e. Asus p5b-e for $122, E6400 for $220), but that's a matter of taste for some folks.

I prefer Seagate (5 year warranty) over WD, but I end up buying Samsungs anyway. :) That's a minor point, though.

Yea, as Whomper said, Core 2 Duo is the way to go at the moment.

Core 2, X-Fi, etc.

All you need to do is take one look at a performance test between the E6300 and AMD's chips and you should have made your mind up.

check specs bellow .... i play on all high no probs at all . yes the processor is a 478 and graphics card is agp...

Isn't a 480W PSu a little underpowered for the new 8 series cards and other high end components?

EDIT: Try upgrading to the 580W Hiper, ive got one and it handles my 3.4ghz E6600, RAID0 Drives and other stuff fine.
