It is true about Intel being better than AMD at this time...but something interesting caught my eye the other day about the current AM2 platform:
You will be able to use AM2+ and AM3 CPU's in an AM2 motherboard(minus the newer CPU's new features of course).
As for Intel's current socket775, we know the Quad core they have available now does fit in the L775 mobos, but what about Intel's next set of CPU's? If they do like they have in the past and make a simple voltage change to the mobo, it means L775 can only be upgraded to what you see and know about now.
Because of this new info(new to me), I have begun reconsidering the "nothing but Intel" recommendations I have been giving lately. Yes the Intel's are better now, but what about 1.5 years from now when he wants to change the CPU?
