    Sound Blaster Audigy SE problems??

    Hello,
I just got the Sound Blaster Audigy SE and put the audio options on BF2 and BF2142 on high and all, but every time one of the characters say something (like roger that, I need a medic, and ext...), its always choppy.
and sometimes when im running around it sounds like my character is in a room with allot of echo.
    How can I fix this?

I used to have that card, and I remember that in the sound options, if something was enabled the sound went ****e. Think it might have been EAX or something, and I only had the sound on medium I believe.

    Hope this helps.

I don't think A SBAse can handle BF2 sounds with EAX on high. i believe the minimum really is SBA2. Try turning off EAX or lowering the quality.

As has already been stated by others the problem is the Audigy SE. All things considering the card is a POS (same goes for the Audigy LS/DE/Value (not to be confused with the Audigy 2 Value), as well as the X-Fi Xtreme Audio). It can't do hardware sound only software. Kind of hard to do hardware sound when there is no hardware (the EMU10K2 chip that is on the rest of the Audigy's).

Try setting it to software and medium, and if you do enable EAX with it, be prepared for a big performance hit.

I have an old soundblaster card, one of the first they released into the "SB Live!" Creative Labs series. It just needs to be set to "Software". I have EAX turned on, and it does not decrease performance by much. On the other hand, I should turn EAX off, because when, say, a helicopter is flying behind me, it doesnt play the sound on the speakers because I dont have more than two speakers.

I just upgraded to a X-Fi ex Music from a SB GamersX Live! (great card I'm putting it in my wifes new (my old) comp) and it ran BF2 audio on high /w EAX /w a x64 BETA driver for the SB Value Live. GamerX no longer supported but the Value is because they came in so many CHEAP DELL's.
