i need help, i cant even install bf2

this really sucks....

after my computer crashed from this really crappy virus, i had to uninstall bf2. when i try to reinstall it, it comes up with this error, right before i type in the CD key :

a hardware I/O error was reported while accessing D:\AUTORUN\AUTORUN.BMP.
the CD key picture on the left doesn't appear, and it works, until it starts installing. about 1/16 of the way through, it says "failed to install battlefield 2, retry from the beginning?" and i say yes and it exits out of the setup. please reply asap because i am getting sick of this!

Well if it is to late for a system restore point your next option is a repair install if that does not work Format C: and do a fresh install save yourself a lot of time and headaches.

Back up your important files and do a fresh wipe of your hard drive and reinstall everything. As SWB said, it'll save you a lot of time and headaches in the long run. Chances are, you'll have this kind of trouble with other things as well.
