2 Issues

Alright everyone, im new here. I have had BF2 for a while and its been uninstalled at most three times.

My computer specs are easily said as:

NVIDIA GeForce 6600GTX O/C
1GB RAM
2.66GHz

My first problem is it literally takes me 10 minutes to load a map. I want to know why/how to fix this please.

My second problem is whenever i quit the game there will be 2 error sounds/notfications. Like an actually error sound. Where it an abrupt windows sound...i dont know how to explain it better, but i want to know what the problem is and a way to fix it.

Load times can be decreased by:

defragmenting your hard drive

(sometimes) clearing the cached video data under my_documents\bf2\profiles\
(sometimes) manually updated punkbuster

a faster hard drive

more ram

As far as the error goes, it's hard to say.

What are the video settings set at?

They're at low with a 100% draw distance.

It sounds like what ever is causing the errors may be due to programs running in the background. If you start the game, then alt-tab and ctrl-alt-del/show processes, what does it look like? Any noticeable memory hogs?

Longshot--could be spyware, or it could be your av/as/firewall inadvertently trying to "protect you", or ask for guidance.

More info on the errors would help.

But i usually only have XFIRE running or MSN.
