    Installation time??

So, I just picked up BF2 for PC after playing it on PS2.. well, I am in the process of installing it... what is the average installation time?

Computer is a 3.4GHZ pentium, 1 gig ram...CD's in a 56x drive.. it's going on about an hour now... for the 2nd time, I tried it in the DVD drive first, and it did the same thing..

It goes through CD 1 in a flash, but when it gets to CD2 it almost acts like it freezes on FuShe_Pass\client.zip and the bar doesnt move

If I eject the CD it pops up a window the re-insert the disk.. the disk is still spinning in the drive but the progress bar isn't moving.. no error messages though.. wtf? Am I doing something wrong here?

    Re: Installation time??

an hour seems somewhat long, but if you got nothing better to do, just let it sit there, it will finally finish installing. you may want to reboot first, and then close out any other apps that are running and temp disable your anti-virus scanner. that may help.

might also try a clean boot:

go to start, run, type msconfig, uncheck all unnecessary start up programs, go to processes, check exclude MS processes, then uncheck all the rest, reboot, try installing again.

there was something on my PC (probably an AV/Firewall/Anti-spyware program that was causing BF2:SF to not install, as well as Oblivion add-ons.

Doing a clean boot, in the way that I just described above, was the only way that I could get them to install.
