I have been using my keyboard to fly ever since 1942 came out. Its finally time to get me a joystick, but I have no idea what to look for. I dont want to spend over $50 TOTAL, so what do you guys recommend. Im not only using this for BF2. I play other Flight Sims, so I want it to work well for those too.

Re: I need a new Joystick
Ive heard of a lot of people using that one. I was either thinking of getting that, the Saitek Cyborg Evo, or the Evo Force. I heard of the Force having problems with BF2, so I was leaning towards the Evo. Can anyone comment on any of these? (or a better one if you know of it)Comment

Re: I need a new Joystick
"I" wouldn't go with that one... I tried one at Futureshop.ca (I'm canadian, eh?) and I found it to have a very cheap feeling to it. I've had my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro for over 3 years now and I love it.Originally posted by ThunderPimpCheck this one out:

Re: I need a new Joystick
I have a logitech 3Dpro, 2.4 Cordless, X52, and the AV8R... I would say the 3D pro feels alot cheaper. Did you just put your hand on it in a shop, or did you actually use the stick in order to form your opinion?Originally posted by Addequate"I" wouldn't go with that one... You can't calibrate the logitechs correctly or set a dead zone. The buttons on the logitechs usually stop working for me as I've owned two 3Dpros and four 2.4 cordless ones due to them screwing up.
Two sticks I haven't had problems with are the X52 and the AV8R.Comment

Re: I need a new Joystick
What about the Force version of the 3D Pro. Is it worth the $40 price difference for that force feedback?
Price aside, what do you pilots think about force feedback in general? Does it make flying easier because of realism, or would a stick without force be easier to fly? Id rather have precision before realism, and Im afraid that Force will make it harder to aim, fly, ect.Comment

I love my Saitek Cyborg Evo. I tried the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, I really didn't like it. I would recommend the Evo.Comment

Re: I need a new Joystick
None of my sticks have force feedback. I don't even think that Battlefield supports FFB sticks. If I had one I would think that it would only make it harder to fly with and shoot accurately with your sticks vibrating around.Comment
