So yeah, I am getting a creative extreme gamer fatal1ty soundcard next week, and I need some tips how can I set my windows for it. I know how to disable the integrated soundcard from bios, but how can I disable the windows sound settings, which only messes the x-fi own settings. So how can I disable windows sound settings?

The x-fi drivers will take priority, no need to do anything(except disable your on board, but you don't need to) You will be able to set the x-fi as the output/ input for all sources in the windows sound set up(but tbh the x-fi drivers will do this anyway)

the X-fi wont take priortiy. It will in bios but not windows. You need to unistall your onboard probaly called ac97 or intel audio then disable it in bios then your set!Comment

Ok so I will just uninstall Nvidia audio drivers and disable the integrated audio. But what about the speaker settings? X-fi has it's own program for setting 2.1 speakers for example, and so has windows. So it gets a little problematic, doesnt it? Is it possible to ignore the windows speaker settings and put x-fi own program settings in use?Comment

The X-fi(any sound card) has an option to sync speaker settings(i.e 2.1/ 5.1 etc) with the control panel, And you don't "need" to uninstall your on board, I use both, it's handy when fraps is running and you want to use teamspeak. you just need to go into the control panel/ speaker settings and choose your primary sound device for the different tabs.
TBH it would be easier to do what you are going to do.Comment

My X-fi loaded up fine, but I did have to manually select the mic driver.
