Windows Vista home premium question

im going to get home premium on tuesday, does media center hog up a lot of recorces. i really dont care about the videos and pictures, i wont use it at all., i just want vista, home basic does not have the cool looking things like areo, and buisness and ultimant (spelled wrong), cost too much for upgrade.
any one have any experience w/ vista and/or media center.

If you're doing it just for that I'm not sure if it would be worth it, because yes, it indeed take a LOT of resources, well at least over previous OS's. You need at least 1 gig of ram to start with, and thats not even for running the games with Vista.

But you're system would cope just find. So I'd say don't sweat it. The functionality changes ARE nice.

Yeah, I mean, if you want Aero you should get it, but you shouldn't (yet) if you want it solely for gaming or anything.

My friends dad works in a washington Microsoft place, (i live in seattle) and he got the beta for vista. My friend said that it was awesome, and that if your system can run it, you should go for it.

you would think u could turn off some functions to make it like xp a bit or fully customize i hope

im getting full because i dont want trouble with upgrade hardware or formatting all the time just premuim i think

Are you gunna install the x32 for functionality or x64 so you can run x64 apps as they come out.

There are many x64 apps for XP x64.
