    Re: Overclock: How?

Overclocking the CPU takes more research and knowledge. Its not as simple as OC'ing the video card.

i wouldnt bother as ur likely to blow it up:laugh:

you wont get wild improvements maybe 5 fps if ur lucky:p at the expense of burning your parts out just play with ur anti-analising like 16x and 8 x like me and get arount 50-60 fps

Overclocking your processor will give you an improvement in games probably more than overclocking the video card. You need to overclock your CPU from your bios.

Here is a good Conroe beginner guide:

Never heard of that board. Is it an OEM part?

overclocking will usually lead to more problems than benefits if you actually try to get a decent performance boost out of it.

And for artifacting, artifacting is when the picture on the screen basicly gets distorted. It can be black lines everywhere, or just about any strange distortions in the picture. It is kind of hard to explain but it is pretty recognizable when you see it. This is caused by too much heat, or just too much stress on your video card alltogether.

EDIT: this is a good example of artifacting, look at all the blank spots the video card failed to render.
