Overclock: How?

im really a computer hardware newbie and i heard about this so called "overclocking" graphics card. I have a 7600 gt, and i would like to get as much power as i can from it. I noticed it never overheats, after long hours of play it stays a cool 57 degrees celsius. So i was wondering if i could exchange heat for power, but i have zero clue on how to. Can someone post a guide or if its easy make a guide yourself because i really need a detailed explanation.
Do if need any programs? if so, what are they?
Is it going to cost me anything?
about how much power boost might i get?
Is overheating going to be a risk?

thats cool anyone know what he means by "snow" and i downloaded riva tuner but i cant find the tab for memory and video like he said in the walkthrough please help!!!

im pretty sure the riva tuner is for nvidia, not ati

what about ntune? or google you system and u will see post of people who been there done that!personally my experiences are its not really visually worth it:) not like 20 fps jump or anything a systen crashes arent good

You would OC the cpu in your mobo's bios. There is a program(dont have the name), but it would not be as safe to do so.

I think and not sure about this, but i believe snow is like artifacting.

Ntune does all 3 ---CPU>Motherboard>Graphics card and votages autmatically to max levels but iv also had a few system lock ups with it:cry:

Well system lock-ups means that you have OC'ed too much.

DO NOT OC your CPU from software, do it from the BIOS. It's nowhere near as stable with software (well, what I mean is that the little problems that indicate a major ****up won't be present, i.e. failing to boot) as with the BIOS.

As for the GFX card, download NVTray, click the tray icon (left click) and select Enable ALL from the dropdown list in the box that comes up. This unlocks overclocking in the nvidia control panel. The highest I've pushed it to is 655MHz core and 1800MHz Memory (7600GT), it's 100% stable at 625 core 800 Mem and should be stable at 640/1800 too (I ran it at that rate for a while). The most I've seen it heat to is 62*C.

Thanks but wat is artifacting? and also can anyone help me with o/c my core 2 duo? ima post up a video of me in the bios:)

im pretty sure it has something to do with frequency and fsb speed right?

but as you can see they are grayed out and i cant do anything with them so what do i do? if frequency and fsb is what i need to change to over clock?
