Need Help !

hi guys i need your help once again lol

i want to reinstall my windows but cant realy work out the best way to do it ?

i only have 1 hard drive if i was to wipe it would i need to find drivers for my hardware installed ( motherboard ect. ) because i do not have these on disc ?

windows xp is installed on my C drive ( only hard drive i have ) so how would i reinstall ?

i have a disc but it's not the same as the windows i have installed at the moment ?

if you can please give me a quick guide to sorting out my comp thats would be great !

do you know what motherboard you have? if you do go to the website and make yourself a drivers disk, then when reinstalling windows make sure you have the correct CD key for the disk you have i guess you know how to reinstall windows? let windows reinstall then when its finished you add the drivers for your motherboard like sound and lan

Partition your existing HDD. leave about 60gigs on the C: partition and the rest on the D: partition. Put the files you want to keep on the D: partition, like drivers (download current ones and save to a folder on D: drive), your documents, music, your PR mod installation files, anything you want to keep and not download basically.

Then stick your xp disc in, reset and then boot off the disc, install xp to the C: partitio only, formatting it the long way (not "quick") and then reinstall mobo drivers, hardware drivers, video/dx9, AV, use a proper degragger immediately then install your main software/games and defrag again

You can try a repair install here are some links you should read before proceeding.
A repair install keeps all your installed programs, doc & pics but you must reinstall ALL device drivers and Windows updates so have them ready to go.

need to know what mobo you have first then you can go to the manufactures website and download the drivers for it

are you doing a full reinstall? if so boot up from your windows cd and partion it from there, im guessing you got your drivers?

ok so i dont need to do anythink untill i reinstall windows.

just get the latest of the ones they have given you and burn them to a cd, also make a link on the cd to that website so you can revisit if needed later sometimes the latest drivers wont work best
then just change your bios to boot from cd and put in your windows cd, save and restart then the cd will boot up and do your install, remember to save any info you want to keep and if you have anything encryped decrypt it first otherwise you will loose it, i found that out the hard way
