Check and see if the Kingston is compatible with your mobo. Anything with "value" in the name has the potential to act up in some mobos. My mobo wouldn't run games for more than ten minutes with Kingston Value RAM when I tried it. I went with the OCZ and haven't had any issues.

Am i being stupid or are u looking at ddr2 and ddr. If im right id go for the DDR2 as its quicker

pc3200/400mhz is the fastest conventional ddr ram. i'm sure op is looking at ddr2.

and 2 gigs > 1 gig. consult your real number line for details. :)

They also sell RAM that is rated at higher speeds, designed to be "overclocked." I don't think the Value series includes models like that, but still.

ok ill just go with the kingston since i ready have a gig of that in there and its much cheaper that way so i can get that zalman cooler ive been eyeing:)

which cooler? big flower?
you might consider arctic cooling. they make very good-quality stuff (not quite as good as zalman (i.e. typically aluminum v. copper hsf, but with a top-notch quiet fan), but at 1/2 the price, and do you REALLY need to push your components "all the way"?)

I go hooked on arctic cooling after I put one of their hsf solutions on my p4 3.0E and finally made it a cool, quiet power hog. since then, i've slapped an ac ati silencer on my x800xt aiw, and added two ac 120mm fans. everything is whisper quiet now, and temps are phenomenal, esp for a prescHott processor and a x800 series gpu.

yup, that's a big a$$ cooler, and it would perform slightly better than the ac freezer 7 pro. on the other hand, it requires you to remove your mobo, the install is slightly more complicated, and you must BE VERY CAREFUL when you move your pc around when that huge chunk of is acting as a lever (your core 2 duo is the fulcrum :cry: ).

the ac 7, on the other hand, is cheaper, equally quiet, installs easily, and won't tear the silicon off your mobo mounts if you tilt your comp a little too much. :)

don't get me wrong. zalman makes great stuff, and my next gpu is going to have a zalman vf900 on it. lotta trouble for a cpu install, though.

yeah i do have to agree,the artic is probably way better for my umm technical "skills" and im not gonna be seriously over clocking maybe .2 ghz ro a little more.

read the reviews on the ac freezer 7. then think about. then sleep on it. then decide how to spend your money. then sleep on it one more time. :)

edit. i can't tell you i'm not biased. i've used ac products ALOT in the last twelve months, but i've only read about zalmans. from what i can tell, they are GREAT products, but require alot of attention to install, and are heavy (i.e. copper flower v. aluminum block), etc.
