Is there much of a performance difference between these 2 types of RAM? I want to know if it's justified spending NZ$100 (US$70) more for 2GB DDR2-800 CL4.
BTW, the RAM will be for a new Vista gaming rig I'm building (just have to wait for Vista to come out), and can't decide whether I should get 2gb or 4gb yet... here are the other system specs:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz LGA775
Graphics: GeForce 8800 GTX
Motherboard: ASUS P5B Deluxe
RAID 0 array: 2x BARRACUDA 7200.10 400GB NCQ SATA2
Sound card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic
Case: Thermaltake Matrix -VX VD3430SWA
Power Supply: Silverstone ST75F modular PSU 750W
LCD Monitor: Philips 190B7CB 19"
DVD writer 1: Pioneer DVR-111D Black
DVD writer 2: Samsung SH-S182D 18X DVD-R/+R Dual Layer DVD Writer Black OEM
TV/FM card: Hauppauge PVR150
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium Edition
Edit: I don't plan to overclock any of these components.
