    Re: triple buffering

Triple Buffering: If set to On, this setting allows your overall performance to improve when Vertical Synchronization (VSync) is enabled in games. Therefore if you want to enable VSync - whether in the in-game settings or in the Nvidia Control Panel, it is recommended you enable Triple Buffering as well. However note that using Triple Buffering may cause problems for graphics cards with lower Video RAM, so disable this option if you’re experiencing problems such as mouse lag in games. Note further that this option only works for OpenGL games at the moment
thats wat it says in a forceware guide

pretty much i think that it wont do much for bf2, and i just leave it disabled along with vsync since vsycn isnt that important unless ur getting over 70fps

and all VSync does is sync your framerate with the refresh rate of your monitor, to supposedly help improve image quality.....

        Re: triple buffering

VSync reduces tearing by making your GPU wait for your monitor's refresh rate. It can cause stuttering if your GPU is waiting too much for your monitor. On the other hand, if your GPU and monitor aren't synced you can have a lot of tearing caused by your GPU putting out another frame before your monitor has finished drawing all of the last one.

Remember Triple Buffering on your ATi or Nvidia settings panel is just for OpenGL. For Direct3D games (like BF2) you will need a separate program (which PB sometimes sees as a hack).

Triple Buffering is a must when using VSync, it gives you a proper FPS when your FPS is under your refreshrate.

VSync equals the FPS to the refreshrate, at a rate of 70Hz. it would need 70 FPS or more. When it doesn't it goes to 50% or 25% of that, so you will have 35 or 17 FPS. Triple Buffering bring the FPS up again to a descent level.
