Problems with my G15

Hey all I just got one of these. I don't intend on using Macros before anyone asks, I just thought the KB looked cool and I like the LCD panel. The cheap price was also a factor.

I have one major problem though. When I press a few certain keys, such as backspace etc it keeps bringing up other windows ie help in Firefox etc. How can I stop this please?

You can stop the windows start key from working (and other functions) by moving the slider (located left of the media controls and LCD display) to the right.

There's an icon of a computer monitor and a Joystick. The monitor turns on the ability to use the windows startup via it's keystroke, and other menu functions. The joystick disables it, and now those keys can be used in games.

It also disables the the key between the right control and the right windows start key. I hit this one a lot with my palm. If you typing in a field like I am now it brings up that menu, when your cursor is just on a webpage it brings down the first pull down under file (top menu in browser). On a desktop it brings up what would be a right click.

I have it on joystick all the time because I rarely use these keys.

Keyboard is US, but I have changed XP to reflect this if that is any help.

i've had my g15 for awhile now, same as you, I just like the LCD display and how it gives you server info (ping,IP, players/map etc) I'm no expert at all, did you check the G15 profiler? Maybe you have backspace as a macro that links you to that help site...?

I cleared out everything that was set in their under default.

Just to update, it does the same round my friends house so it will be getting returned.

I just bought a G15 and can not get the macros to work in BF2 although they work in BF1942. I have created the macros outside the game, in the profiler, assigned them to a G key and run the test. The test shows the proper sequence of key strokes. When I launch the game and try the assigned G key, nothing happens. Nor can I create a quick macro within the game. As I said before, the keyboard works in BF1942 as advertised. Any suggestions would be appreciated since I will return the keyboard on Monday if it doesn't do macros.

ok first of all using macro's on a BF2 ranked server is deemed illigal and you can loose all of your points if caught but in saying that if your using macro's in single player (and maybe multiplayer unranked servers??) its fine, check your profiler and see if you have made your macro's under the BF2 profile as profiles automaticaly change when your start a game
