Re: cleaning
I prefer canned air, and I just blast it into any open spaces, especially the psu, gpu vents, cpu fan, and around the optical drives. Case fans also tend to collect dirt, so blast those, too.
Something you could do to reduce dust accumulation is to line your pc with washable air filters (i.e., a nylon mesh). I've lined all my intake fans and breather holes with washable air filters, and it has cut drastically back on cleaning (also dampens the noise a little, and I hate a noisy computer).Comment

Re: cleaning
i actaully have the centurion case by cooler master and the whoel front is a mesh to keep dust out which is great, but no matter what the barrier its the tiniest pieces of dust that accumulate.Originally posted by megawhompertooI prefer canned air, and I just blast it into any open spaces, especially the psu, gpu vents, cpu fan, and around the optical drives. Re: cleaning
If it's bad I would unplug everything from the back and set the computer on a a table and unhook some of your cabling and blow everything out. I've noticed that ever since I cleaned up my wires in my case I actually get less dust and the computer runs cooler :) .
Whatever you do, do NOT use an air compressor, it can carry a static charge and can kill your computer, use canned air or a vacuum.Comment

Re: cleaning
I try to use both a vacuum and air when mine gets dirty. Suck out the big stuff, spray out what's left.
Also, if I've been smoking a lot around my comp I'll clean stuff off with Q-Tips. The tar buildup won't come off with just suck and spray.Comment

Re: cleaning
It just binds to dust and sticks to everything. If I don't clean pretty often, it can suck when I finally do get around to it.Originally posted by minicoop503tar build up in your computer? how much do you smoke man?Comment

Re: cleaning
not to mention, an air compressor lubricates the air that it commpresses, and you dont want moist air blown into your case, OVER!!!!Originally posted by [ht].kenIf it's bad I would unplug everything from the back and set the computer on a a table and unhook some of your cabling and blow everything out.
