ditto. $1000 is my max, every ~three years. right now you can newegg a complete e6400 + x1950xt + mobo + 2gb ram + nice case +psu + optical +250gb hd for ~$1000. In another 12 months, I'll do that...for ~$700, recycling my case, opticals, and (maybe) a hd. :)

edit: then again, my car is 7 years old, and pushing 140k miles...maybe i ought rethink my upgrade priorities...

Why?!?

You can build 3-4 high end pc's for that price ( i like value for money, instead of selling my soul to Dell)


oh and you can make a pretty decent case yourself with some hard graft
