    8800GTx advice!

    Hi

    After christmas i SHOULD have some money to do some more work to my pc. And i hope to buy a 8800GTx, But i was wondering if someone could answer some of my questions

    Ive chossen the BFG 8800GTX

    I think my PSU has enough power for it, its a Coolmaster 650watt with 18amps on its 2 12v rails which equals to 36amps.

    I was wondering will my PSU be powerful enough and is it worth investing in a new card at this time?

      At this time I dont think you should upgrade to an 8800 just cause its there, there aren't any developers (maybe only 1-2) making games supporting DX10 and they wont be released til early next year

      a 7950 will do you good just get that, no need for an 8800 this time around, its only the 1st DX10 card, wait til ATi (R600)comes out with theirs or Nvidia to come out with their 2nd one

              i just bought this CPU 2 weeks ago lol!!!

              And i thought it maybe time to buy a new graphics card but when and which is a hard choice.

              also a 7950x2 is aout £375 then i might aswell go the extra mile for a 8800GTx

              but the 7950GT is about £150 so that isnt bad but knowing me ill go sli with that

                  What game are you having trouble playing with your 7800gtx?

                  If none, I would save the money and only upgrade your GPU when you need to.

                      its just a waste if you can run all the games you want well enough

                          The only thing i have at the moment is FSX which i have to play on LOW to keep the FPS above 20. So i was thinking of securing my pc for the future while i have the money!

                          any way thanks guys, ill hold on for abit maybe at the end of 2007 lol!!!
