    E6300

how is this proc. for performance??even though it is a 1.86ghz ...seems kind of slow to be the worlds best processors

    Re: E6300

It's not slow, as dual cores are often seemed as clocked low, are really double or more in ghz, or at least rated as so. My 3800+ is rated as 5.8ghz, or sommit close to that.

      The E6300 is the equivalent to a 3.2Ghz P4.

I they can be overclocked very easily which is a good thing about this processor.

sooo, that means if i got a 3.2 ghz p4, it would be exactly the same as an e6300? Because i thought the dual cores were alottt faster than single cores...

I meant for BF2 because it will only take advantage of 1 core, not both. And im about 90% sure that it is equivalent to a 3.2Ghz P4. It is definately not less.

Minicoop, the E6300 will be much better than a P4 in terms of overall performance. It will also be future proof for games that do take advantage of dual cores.

                        If the e6300 is beating the 3.73ghz P4, I'd say that it's quite a bit better than a 3.2 ghz P4

Feel free to look at the other benches too... the e6300 does very well

And I would definitely consider overclocking. It's really easy with the Core 2 Duo's, and they overclock very high. You might not even have to raise the voltage if the overclock isn't too extravagant.
