I Am using a WPN311 RangeMax(TM) Wireless PCI Adapter and i've never had lag since i had bf2 for at least a year, so i played and played with no lag always below 100's , but one day i started up my computer and got my bf2 started and updated my server listing and i always check my ping rates...............( 500-700 Ping on every freakin server ) i was like wtf, but what gets me is that my internet, TS, Vent, and everything else is workin fine and dandy. so i try everything in the world with my noobish self to fix the ping, but nope..... cant fix anything, so for all you computer kings out there, PLZ PLZ PLZ help me out, cleaning folders Etc. i have all the time in the world. i just need step by step since im a computer noob. Either PM me, AIM is ZeRoLiFe9490 , and xfire is snipethesniper.

Note, i dont want ******** posters, who just want to be jackasses , i just want some help and thats all, so theres my problem, hope someone can really help me out. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

I'm thinking that it could be some sort of wireless interference...

    check your wireless signal strength.

Are you sure this happened after a restart? Are you doubly sure that you've not changed anything? Does it happen on any other game?

You need to isolate the problem first, for example if it is BF2 then re install it and re patch it, if it is the wireless card then re install the drivers.

You are running on the latest 1.41 patch right?

Run a hardline to the router if you can just to completely eliminate the variable that you are using wireless. Once we know it isn't the wireless for a confirmed fact, I'd begin to look at the ISP.

              Re: BF2 Lag

Well what i cant get is that my internet is as fast as regular hookup cable, same with my Ventrilo ping which stays below 100, its only in my bf2 game, and yes i am using 1.41 and yes i have reinstalled the game/patch plenty of times

By any chance , does anyone know how to open my ports to bf2 or something similar to that??

That would be done by logging into your router. I don't know the login IP to yours specifically but normally you log into them through internet explorer, key in your password (usually admin or something silly like that as default) and then go to the ports area for forwarding info. There have been other posts on these forums that give all the port numbers to be forwarded to your computer.

                  MOST routers have a login of admin=name - admin=password
