    Headset problem.

    ok so i got me a thermaltake armor and i need the headset to be hooked up. I plug both green and pink into green and pink run microphone test and it doesnt record my voice. wtf? but on the top of th armor theres 2 slots to and they work ok..

      Go to START > ALL PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > ENTERTAINMENT and select SOUND RECORDER.

      See if your mic works there. If not, try to look at the back of your case and don't go by colors. Verify that you are plugging the mic into a port that has a picture of a little microphone.

      If all that is good and you still get no mic sound, verify you have it set up here: START > CONTROL PANEL > SOUND AND AUDIO DEVICES
      and go to the VOICE tab and be sure the Microphone has a setting selected for it.

      You may want to verify you are using current drivers for whatever sound card you have.

              Do you have a sound card AND motherboard sound? If so, only one set of the ports will work and you may have them plugged into the other ones. Is there a manual volume switch? Crank it.

              And finally, they could just be broken. It happens. See if you can't find any other mic to test the port.

                the soundcard is built on the motherboard, i swapped the mother board, still has the problem.
