    Gpu Temp

i just have a question about it...is it normal for the temp to rise while just doing desktop work???it is at 49 right now but eventually it goes to 53 is this normal?? it shouldnt be happening considering the fact that i have ALOT of case fans..including a pci fan right on the cards A$$

Yes, it's somewhat normal for a GPU to run that hot. It's when it gets into the 75+ range that you have to start to worry.

My 7800 GT CO SE is currently at 45 degress.

my card is like 53oC stable and can go into the 60s under stress. for some reason, when i check my temp settings, it says that the core slowdown threshold is at 120oC which is very very hot, and i thought itd be lower than that like maybe at 90.

                Nah, mine is about 115c.

GPUs can handle a lot of heat. Thats why they run so hot, and have such a high slowdown threshold.

does it always do it at 75c? It may not necessarily be the video card. I doubt it's your PSU, since your rig obviously runs fine.

I have water cooling in mine, its not cooling very well because the fittings and the tubing.

                      CPU goes to 48c load
                      GPU goes to 50c load

Once I fix the problem CPU will probably stay under 40c
