HDDs crashed

Early this night one of my 2 80GB WesterDigital's Crashed. IT just restarted when i was in windows so i put out my system. And try to reboot it. It go's past the first screen but after that it just restarted and restarted. So i put in my XP cd. And run it. And then i suddenly hear the disk restarted even faster!! So i put of the system again. And just did nothin with it for like 3/4 hours and it is running again. This are 2 normal 7200RPM iDE disks. Brank wetern digital. This is the second time i got this problem now. Its very strange cause never had problems with maxtors lol. Do you maybe now wat can causes this. If so pls let me now. In bf2 it runs all fine so no worries =D ...

Western Digital is a cheap brand, in quality and usually cost. I've never had a Seagate drive fail, so that's what I recommend.

yeah, ive never liked western digital. i bought a maxtor drive a month or 2 ago and it hasnt given me any problems and its really quiet.

well ive always had Western digitals and theyve never failed me, my mate runs 2 500gb western digitals in RAID and havnt failed him.

It most likely the raid driers etc causing ur issues.!

Maxtor was bought by Seagate, so the reliability will probably be similar. Maxtor has been pretty good in my experience.

You can go all your life without a drastic failure with a specific brand of hardware. It doesn't make it any more reliable. I believe this is why people still buy GM products. :p You gotta figure though, things should get better over time.
