Tom's graphics cards round-up for the holidays

Some good and practical advice for folks looking to score a deal, and it might be a good place to start answering that familiar, "Which gpu should I get" question.

at this point guys, ask for money- then use it for a midrange directX 10 gcard sometime in january (something like an 8600 series, the 8800 will blow your wallet into oblivion) - or see the ati based solution which is rumored to be VERY powerful

If only people read this thread and would take it in. No doubt next week they'll be another 3 or 4 "is this card any good" threads :P

ah well. still, a good *independent* (sometimes they do tend to be overly partial to ATI) source to direct folks to when they ask.

at least until vista/dx10/dx10games/etc. comes out.

p.s. i really, really like the numbers for the x1950xt, for the price.

        really.

        i mean, really-to-the-gddr4th, really.
