CPU Temp. Not being detected.

I'm running a AMD Athlon 3000+ XP (stock speeds) on a GA-7VT880-L. I want to start over clocking my CPU but I'm not go blindly go tinkering about without it, when I can't monitor the temperatures.

For some reason no matter what program I use including: MBM5, Easy Tune 5 and a few others I can't monitor my CPU core temp.

Any suggestions? Does my mobo simply not support CPU temp monitoring? Or is this duff mobo?

If your bios is reporting temps (assuming you can see temps when you go into the bios), then you just need to find a program that will talk to your bios. Tried speedfan?

Everest? If you really need to, flip off the side of your case when your PC is on load and put a thermometer to your cooler or around your CPU.

If you have an ATI card, just download ATI tool, has all you need.

LOL ATI isnt gonna do squat about your CPU buddy. Maybe he thought your post said GPU

My bios was detecting it at 43C in the CMos. I Just got speedfan although I recognise the program. Is Temp3 the CPU temp? I guess it is considering that its currently at 46C idle.

The other un-named temps are -55 (yeah right) and 25C.

I have an nVidia card and as other said I'm looking at CPU temps not GPU :)

According to coretemp I don't own a AMD processor

The 25°C is more than likely the motherboard temperature, and the -55°C is a phantom reading (monitoring chip supports the reading, but no sensor to report it; Speedfan gets its readings directly from the monitoring chip and not through the bios).
