But the game won't start up. I'm guessing I need the 1.41 patch, but is there ANYWHERE I can find that for free? Can anyone help?

you can download the patches from those links for free, just some sites might limit your download speed

Yeah, I found those later last night. It's still not working though. I downloaded and installed the patch, but when I click the BF2 icon the screen goes black, a dark shade of gray, then black, then back to the desktop and stops loading the game all together. I really don't understand...

Nah, I figured it out. My video card is complete ****e. I got it working on the "family" computer though. Thanks.
