    Help connecting old Joystick

As you old flight sim veterans will know, joystick connections used to be dominated by the 15 pin (also known as the midi port). Alas the days of old are gone and its all usb now. I drudged up my old logitech wingman extreme digital i used during my x-wing versus tie-fighter days and wanted to use it with my new laptop. Of course my laptop only has USB connections, so i went and bought a 15pin to USB connector.

I plug the damn thing in, download the logitech game profiler for the wingman (apparantly thats what they call their driver, correct me if im wrong) but the profiler does not detect the joystick. I tried auto-recognize through windows control panel, still no luck. Can someone tell me if theres a way to hook my old friend up? or is this a lost cause.

I believe if you are going to use it, you have to hook it to the 15 pin game port. My last audigy still had one (I think) as did the motherboards with built in sound.

I don't know of a way to convert it to USB that would be cheaper than buying a new stick.

I had the same problem. I found out the problem was the connector. They are junk and don't work. After I bought mine and it didn't work I did some research and found out most people were having bad luck with it. Good luck to you.
