Yet another computer problem, this time its serious

Ok so yesterday i got bf2142 and installed it, i restarted my computer and when i tried to log back into my windows account (on windows XP startup) it would not let me. I have no password set for any accounts. When i click on my username on windows startup it restarts the computer. i have tried several different times and no difference. I decided to try another windows account, it worked, then after doing my work i shutdown my computer. the next day i tried to logon to that account and it restarts the computer as well now. and that happened until i had no more accounts. i could reinstall windows but i have a lot of business stuff on there that i cannot afford to lose. My system Specs:

Motherboard:MSI MS-6524 Micro-ATX socket 478
CPU:Intel Celeron 1.7 ghz single core
RAM:1 GB (2 x 512) PC133
Graphics: Saphire ATI x1600 Pro AGP 256 MB
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster 16 PCI
Harddrive: Western Digital 160 GB, 7200 RPM, 8 MB CACHE, SERIAL-ATA
Network: Linksys Wireless 54 mbps PCI card

cant think of anything else that is important, please help i have some work i need to do today that can really only be done on that PC

hmmmm..i had a problem like this B4 while i was playing bf2 and it kicked me out of the game to a log in screen..but it was corrected by a simple restart...u dont happen to have an illegal copy of windows do you?? i remember a computer tech told me that microsoft are installing updates that will catch illegal users for they could no longer log on to their accounts...but if its not illegal than u shud reformat mate...

my dad got a free copy from work of xp pro, been used MANY times and still works
if thats the case then how come it never happened before, i never downloaded a windows update!
so i guess this is a good invitation to buy vista huh?

well it sounds like a corrupt account. try creating a new account and then moving all your important files over to that, then delete the old account.

Corparate version, gotta love those, serial is usually inbedded in the install.

log onto the hidden admin account by booting into safe mode then create a new account.

restart the PC into safe mode and then do a system restore.

Or you could override all the passwords from the motherboard
