    Microphone auto deselects

For a while now my computer has been automatically stopping my microphone after I have used it.

    Example:
I make sure it's all set right, load up teamspeak, speak for a bit, then after maybe 5 minutes it stops working.

I check windows and now the microphone is automatically deselected, muted and 20DB boost has been deselected. The soundcard is a Yamaha DS-XG and I can't find any setting that seems to even relate to any of the changes being made for me...any ideas?

And yes, I have tried google but I never get relevant results.

Oh and if it's of any relevance, I'm using a headset w/ mic attached to it.

    Re: Microphone auto deselects

    Your headset has no relevance.

1:At first it works. Are you in BF2 when it stops working or does it also just stop when you are ONLY using teamspeak and no other applications or games?

2:What was the last version of the Yamaha sound driver you installed?

If it stops anytime no matter if another application is on or not, chances are heavy that it is your driver. If it only stops in BF2, the chances are that the driver of the sound card and the needs of both TeamSpeak and BF2 VOIP are causing conflicts with your DirectX device management.

If it only happens when BF2 is on, try deactivating the voice in BF2 and see if it keeps working then. This is mainly only for testing purposes.

    Current driver is available here:

      1. I only use the mic for BF2 so Q1 so I can't answer that.
      2. The latest version on the link that you posted.

I'll try turning it off in BF2 later, gotta go to college!
