I have the sennheiser and I have a pair of regular headphones. They are great. I'd go with them over the creative.

have you considered a good 5.1 set?

I have zalman 5.1 ZM-RS6F and I've been really happy with them. They are actually 5.0, as the dedicated base has been cut, but the surround speakers are potent enough that I don't miss having bass hitting directly on my ear drums.

The thing with 5.1 headsets is, the speakers are crammed so close together, it's hard to clearly define it, unlike real 5.1 audio. Simply put, 5.1's are best used in large spaces. Not small headsets.

mine do an excellent job at surround sound production for headphones, and they are very comfortable.

they are better than most stereo speakers i've tried.

sure, they may sound good for headphones, but your wasting a lot of money for 5.1 sound. I get the same 5.1 effect with a pair of $20 2 channel headphones from WalMart.

Yes, they will be better than most stereo speakers, but not as good as any good quality 5.1 set up.

quite happy with mine; the 5-channel directional sound production remains quite good...and no...

...a good set of two channel headphones still sounds like a good pair of 2-channel (stereo) headphones. the surround "effect" produced by a good sound card and a good set of 'phones is a different sound than you get by adding more speakers. even itty-bitty-teensy-tiny ones, that are around your head.

besides, the zalmans were $40; as far as being a "waste of money" goes, that's incredibly subjective.

My Sony Studio Monitor provides me with surrond sound using onboard audio; I do not have a dedicated sound card. I can not tell the difference between my Sony headphones and my good 5.1 speaker system.
