So, I used Songhua. Joined as USA, 16 player size map. On initial spawn I had to TK a few guys, but then entered buggy that's on the helicopter side. Here's the screenshot - - -

Dunno if its of any help but 1280x1024 on 1600x900 on 2560x1600 screen i know they aint from the same spot but beh!
BF2 cuts the top and bottom off essentially so you see the middle of the screen as far as i know.

Correct, you do not get any more FOV (field of view) the way the BF engine is setup. It will just cut the top and bottom of your screen. sucks, but that is the way they coded it. There is a large petition floating around this forum some place about WS support, but it came down from DiCE that they were not going to retro fit WS into BF2/2142. Thats how it is. It is going to be up to other gaming houses to implement it and in three years, when DiCE comes out with their next PC title, they will have finally caught up to what Id provided in Quake three in 1999...7 years ago.

There we go m8, Rocketchild is correct BF2 ie Dice dont support WS.
Well you learn something new every day.

Click on the link below and then click again to see it in 1920x1200 rez then you can see the enemy vehicle coming up the bank on the LHS

Samarlian, thanks for posting the pic. Comparing your pic to mine clearly demonstrates no difference in horizontal "field of view" between my 4:3 monitor and your 16:9 monitor...........

Actually though, there is a difference in vertical FOV, so you may be at a slight disadvantage using the WS format, as you are losing some view on top and bottom of screen.

There is also a sticky in the main support area about WS support/setup. I did not go look for the petition.
