internet connection

I dont have internet thats why im using my bros computer, and thats the problem i dont have internet. you guys know that little monitor screen on the taskbar? well out of no where it disapperaed and as soon as it did i no longer had internet. any suggestions?
also, when i go to network connections it only shows local area connection, it doesnt show my house's wireless connection.i know im annoying but i cant live without using my computer. when i type cmd from "run" and then type in "ipconfig" it says: ethernet local area connection
media state...............media disconnected

so your on a wireless network? And your bro's comp is the main pc on the network? Maybe he disconnected yours? Or maybe you are out of range for the wireless connection. What is the ip you get whne nor online? And what is the ip when you are online?

I would think that something was disabled in your "Network Connection" because you said that the little monitor screen disappeared.

Check the router settings. Sounds like someone has disabled the router's wireless, or at least your access to it.

i found the problem.....i messed up pci slot..i just put the card in one of the other slots
