Suspending dual core processor advice

In re-reading optimization for the game, there is some advice for dual core users to reset the affinity (I'm paraphraising as I don't have the instructions right under my nose) so the system only used one processor in game. Is this a worthwhile tweak?

Nope, a game must be programmed for Dual Core capabilities.
The game may tap into the second processor just a wee little bit.
