Dual Core AMD Opteron 170

Hey guys, I've got a friend with the below system and I'd like your thoughts on it and also how much you would pay for it second hand. All in good working order.

Processor - Dual Core AMD Opteron 170 Socket 939
Processor Fan - Thermaltake Big Typhoon
Motherboard - DFi Lanparty NF4 Sli-DR
Memory - 2GB (2x1GB) Corsair XMS3200PRO with LEDs
HDD - 250GB Maxtor SATA + 250GB Western Digital SATA
GFX - Nvidia PX6200 TC TDH with Turbo Cache (not sure on this one)
Case - Antec P180 Advanced Super Mid-Tower
PSU - Tagan 480W

Dunno how much id pay, you could make an equivelant system new for about 500-600 quid. Which would include a screen etc.
The thing looks good apart from being crippled by that God-awful gfx card. I assume hes taken out the one he had inside and is selling it with the onboard gfx anabled?

I priced up the components if I bought them as separates and it came to £1400 (including screen etc.)
I made an offer of £750 and I'm waiting for him to respond. I told him to keep the gfx tho!
Apparently the CPU overclocks well so it should be good.

I love the "turbo cache" as if that meant anything. Yeah, i would drop about $600 on it, maybe. where did you do you research for pricing? If feel without a graphics card it should be worth considerably less and the one currently in place is a joke.

TBH I just slammed every component into froogle to see what it came back with.

I'm less likely to get it now anyhow. Was looking forward to designing my own.

Well if you buy that your going to have to upgrade the grahpics card. If you keep it your performance will be crap and it will play like your current comp.

I'd say about $550-575 for it second hand, considering you would have to be a gfx card

I dunno where you checked your prices m8 but you can make a similar pc and include a 19" screen and a decent gfx card for about £800 quid from www.overclockers.co.uk, i think youd be mad to buy second hand when tech is so cheap.
Only optron 144 on the site though so stick in the equivelant x2, but then for the same money you can have a core s duo instaed, youd be mad not too.
