Go into your bios, and raised your FSB, only do it a little bit at a time to not damage any components. Just do it till you see the speed being 2.0 on the bios. After the OC run prime to check for stability, but you should be ok. Good luck.

P.S. What mobo are you using. I got the same chip and i will probably be doing the same, only i want to get mine to run at FSB1333 to match my DDR2 667.

if only it was that easy, id consider checking your temps first. if there not within reason then dont attempt overclocking, although you can pull of a stable overclock your pc will likely run into problems down the road.

How long do you plan to keep your current CPU?? I ran my P4 640 stock is 3.2 at 4.0 on air, for almost a year, and still fine. I see what your saying about the temps. And my bad, that is something you should be keeping an eye on. The reason i didnt' mentioned it, is since is suck a small OC. He is only going 140Hz higher, that's nothing for C2D(Intel chips in general) and with todays new chips they have so many safety things build in, that it will most likely shut itself off to safe it self. But then again, you are correct Scrogathon.

yea I geuss your right about the conroe, my temps when i had the core 2(had to sell it ) wouldnt change much at all with overclocking, and with that overclock he is trying to acheive, i doubt they would change at all, maybe 1c here and there.
The only time your gonna run into trouble is if you start upping the vcore, and with the cpu it shouldnt be a problem.
