Version # problems

Okay all you guru's, i think I've found the right thread.
My BF2 version is 1.1.2963-795-0.
When I do any patches, it stays the same.
According to EA the # in bottom left of loading screen should update.
I updated to 1.4 and the # doesn't change. Also after this screen, the desktop shows an enlarged taskbar at the bottom for a second or two and the old # is also shown there.
In the game files, the file "ReadmeServer.TXT" is quoted as Version 1.4.
AND I have Road to Jalalabad. I also have heaps of CTD's.
It seems I have version 1.4, but EA ... etc. Well, they don't mention any other clues to see if I have a patched version.
PLEASE HELP, or tell me I have 1.4! PLEASE!

your game is already patched to version 1.4,, the 1.1.2 doesnt change when a patch is released its the 1.1.2963-795-0 that changes,

Thank you Scinto,
and the ctd's seemed to stop this afternoon.
I accidently hit the restore for the 64 size maps and had to reinstall the thing and I didn't get a ctd for four maps. There's no explaining some things.
