GPU drivers make this game lag, not the patches

running on max with 4xAA on 1280x1024 and Im using one of the old nvidia drivers and I get 40-90 fps but when I had the new driver It was going down to 25, theres one bad thing tho, the game looks alot better with new drivers, anyone else noticed this?

This may be a real problem. I never thought of that. I am using the newest ones, and my FPS just plain sucks. I should revert to old ones and see if your theory is right...

Which old ones were you using though?

90 series sucks. Stick with the 80 series. 84.25 FW FTW

This may be a real problem. I never thought of that. I am using the newest ones, and my FPS just plain sucks. I should revert to old ones and see if your theory is right...

<~ Still using 70 series due to gfx corruption with later builds

In my case, I get a huge peformance boost from using 80-90 series, but when your gun looks like a spiky bush or constant heat-problem; enemies look like your gun; and you cant see what you're standing on, it really doesn't trade well

Both companies got great cards! Currently I'm using the newest drivers haven't had problems with it. Used Tuneup and Nvtweak and gained some Frames. :)

84.21...these rocked compared to some newer builds as per benchmarks i saw in a mag not so long ago

I have a GeForce 6600, i'm not gonna go through the stupidly long process of updating my driver when i know that they don't make a difference to older cards. All these new drivers are for all that SLi crap

I went from alot of different drivers and found that the 84.21's are the most stable and give the best performance in games.

I have 7800gtx, my problem is that I cant even install the latest driver afte I reformated, thats how I came across this

it all depends on the game, some games work better with ATI some work better with nvidia

LoL!!!!!! Thats funny but wrong. Check out the benchmarks. No pun intented. Anyway its not the video drivers. The performance loss is in memory and not soo much video. Thats why if you have 2 gigs of memory your set to go.
