    Increase in FPS?

I just upgraded my comp...I want to know if this sounds like the correct FPS that i should be getting. Here are my specs.

    EVGA 7900GTX 512
    EVGA SLI Nforce4 mobo
    AMD 3200FX64
    3 Gb corsair XMS ram

My 3dMark05 score is 6580(give or take a couple)
My FPS goes from 57,down to 24..It varies pretty quickly.
Resolution is maxed.1290xI cant remember exactly.4xAA,and all other goodies maxed.Exept for sound,i cant get ultra...

If you run your videocard and CPU at default speeds then its about right.

That 3d Mark score is way to low, I get about 6K in 05 on my 6800GS.

                        Re: Increase in FPS?

                        I have a theory.

What power supply are you using?

I just bought a 7900 GTO last week and I am having similar issues as you, oddly low fps at higher settings. I tried a few different drivers and no change. I thought all my system requirements were met for the card. So trying to figure out why it wasn't performing as well as it should, I noticed that my +12V rail was only putting out a voltage of 6.19 V. Doh!

My power supply is a 450 W with 15A on the +12V rail. My card states a minimum of 450W with 22A on the +12V rail. So I have ordered a new power supply and I think that will take care of my issues with low fps. Not enough power.

Hope that helps. Check your power supply specs/voltages/amps.

Well I did get the messages about low power,But that was before I connected the secondary power.I was just using the power from the PCI slot.I will reinstall my driver cd.Where do I get driver cleaner? Is it downloadable?

Where do I find my voltage settings?I have a 450W supply.I know its the minimum for the card, but all i am running is a DVD,and 1 HDD.
