    Older Video Card Ok?

Hello all, new here and wanting to buy BF2 but have a vid card question.

I have an older Gforce 4 4600 Ti vid card. It was top of the line when it came out. I use it for 3D animation and graphics work. Its worked for Doom 3, Half Life 2, COD 2, etc. Of course not on the highest settings.

I see on the box that BF2 calls for a higher/newer vid card in the minimum specs, but do you think mine will be Ok for now? Thanks in advance for your feedback!

yeah its a real shame that the Ti video cards were not supported...they were wicked awesome and last time i checked the prices (like a few years ago) they outpriced the FX series

Those Geforce Ti cards are not supported as they do not support DX9 technology, which BF2 is built on.

Thanks for the replies. That's too bad though - that vid card has been a real workhorse and rivals some of the newer ones we have at work (even though it is over 3 years old). I've been putting off building a new rig, but I guess it's time.

I may have to "borrow" a card from work for a short time.. Just to try it out...LOL...
