For those thinking of Switching to a Mac

Well boys and girls, its been a while since I have posted here. I thought this would be a good return post though.

When I first bought my PC, I was happy with its specs. Then I bought BF2.....and salivated for more!

I then upgraded to a X800GTO 16 256 video card, 2 Gigs of Ram over a 3.4 Ghz processor and a 19" LCD and really LOVED playing BF2 in all its glory.

After months of playing I was doing research on buying a Mac, and was kinda scared of leaving my gaming ability behind..

Finally 2 weeks ago I made the plunge and purchased a 24"iMac

I was worried that I wouldnt be able to play BF2 or beyond once i sold my PC.

I was wrong. I intalled Bootcamp and am Running XP.

    with a 2.16Ghz Core2Duo a Gig of Ram and a Nvidia 7300GT

BF2 runs amazing!!! No slow down at full video options.

This is not even the most powerful Mac.....so I know many will be able to handle it.

The 24" even has the ablitliy to upgrade RAM and the Video Card.

    I love my new Mac..

Don't know if you've seen the benchmarks ( I think it was in a past issue of Maximum PC) where the new intel based Macs running the XP emulation software actually run Windows more efficiently than IT'S OWN DAMN OS!

    Pretty funny i thought!

I've had BF 2 running on my Mac Book Pro 15.4' 2ghz Core Duo with 2gb of ram since April 2006.

      Works great!!

Not really a Mac any more when your running an Intel proc and emulating windows. Lol

You can build a better PC for the same money you spend on a mac.

You are absolutly correct. But there are a lot of things to take into consideration. $2000 gets you a badass tower, bad *** monitor, and all the fixins....Usually a ton.

$2000 also gets you a 24" badass iMac that runs both OS X and Windows along with a Fking SWEET all in one computer thats beautiful and keeps things simple for those who like it that way.

So its a great toss up.... :)

Processors dont determine a computer.....Intel Makes chips that run computers.

A Mac with BootCamp doesnt emulate Windows...it actually runs it just like any ol' PC does...just a bit better like Killer SeaBee said! :P

Just keep one thing in mind....

Apple is first and foremost a Hardware company with BadAss software writers. Microsoft is a software company and doles out their software to PC makers.....

This is in no way a flame war.....just letting you guys know!

wont be long till hackers go after the mac, not saying that they dont, and start finding holes in the OS. that is if mac keeps getting the mainstream attention they are craving.

I had a Mac, it broke, went to PC.

btw, if you look in here, you'll find comps that are way better looking

$2000 for all that. Not bad.

there are tons of head to head benchmarks of MAC and PC running XP and the MAC doesnt provide any advantage
