My Christmas List Is It Good?

Hey, I'm already making my Christmas list lol.

    Here is what I want-

    and this

We’re sorry, but this page does not existing. Please visit our home page for more information.

Do you think this is good?

Also, would I see a noticable gain in boot time, application loading, and overall speed if I upgraded to that processor from my Celeron D 3.2 ghz? And, is that a good video card?

    Thanks

cos their still pretty expensive, and Pentium D's are a decent budget dual-core, well the Pentium D 805 is, ive no idea about the 820, as their both smithfields id guess the 820 is proberly just as good,

well if u actually run at 3.2 wit hyour celeron then no real need to replace it

get more ram first and foremost

better mother board that supports the sata II interface if you want load times to drop

More ram and the best graphics card you can buy. That CPU upgrade might show you a 10% performance increase MAX. Changing that X300 to say an X1900 will give you a 300% increase.

by the time christmas comes around a core 2 setup would be at a very nice price, considering the e6300 gets 10 dollar price drop like every week.

Re: My Christmas List Is It Good?

oh, well, is the core duo the same socket as a celeron d? Also, I wanted a nvidia card. Do you think that 7900 is good or should I get a different one?

Oh, wow I just looked ant the e6300 is only 180. Last time I checked, it was a lot more. I might take a look into core duo's now

OK, so i did some research and Im leaning to AMD now. Im looking at this processor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103547 and this mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130491. Would getting a core duo still be better?

Edit- I've looked some more and now I'm thinking about an x1600 pro. Is this a good card?

The reason I am leaning to AMD is beacause I cannot find an intel mobo with 4 slots for memory because i already have 1 gig of ram (2 X 512) and to upgrade, I dont want to have to sell them and rebuy. Wit AMD i can just add more. Plus, the mobo i showed you has 4 pci slots which i want.

Re: My Christmas List Is It Good?

the e6300 is slightly better than the 4200+, but not by too much. It's just with some easy overclocking, the e6300 is a beast
But for that overclocking you would need a decent motherboard, and there is only one motherboard that supports Conroe and you memory, Asrock's VSTA, but it's a budget board and doesn't have PCIe.

Honestly I would just keep your CPU until you really have to upgrade it. Just put the money towards something else. And keep in mind nvidia's first line of DX10 cards come out in November, so you might want to revise your list then...

hmm... well, how much will the new cards be? I was thinking about gettin a x850xt because it got a bunch of good reviews and it is only $120.
