    AMDX2 and BF2?

I've just got me new system rigged up and should BF2/2142 demo run fine on a X2? 'cos the 2142 demo keeps crashing every 1/2 hour (could be just a faulty install mind you) and me mate claims that BF2 crashed when he was playing on it. anyway does anyone know of an app/tool that can configure BF2 to play on just one core? and yes I know that it doesnt support dualcore its just I would like one core to take care of background apps and one core to take care of BF2
    anyone?
    thx

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del to bring up your task manager. With the game running find BF2.exe in the process window, right click on it and select, set affinity. Select the CPU you wish to run it on.
Just be aware without setting this permamently within DOS you will have to do it each time your pc is restarted.

I run bf2 and 2142 smooth as silk with my setup, have you installed the AMD 2 core driver update?

there is no reason to set affinity my X2 works great with bf2/2142 as long as you have the AMD driver installed

You are right except this part "just be aware without setting this permamently within DOS you will have to do it each time your pc is restarted"

Once you set the affinity then that's it.

I haven't had any problems either, just be sure to run amd dual core optimizer from www.amd.com and their latest drivers.

No your not!, I have set the affinity in windows and it has NEVER changed.

If you set your aff in windows and it has changed then there is something
                  wrong with your setup.

In that case we will have to agree to disagree. One day you'll be apologising to me though.

Plz pay particular to the last paragraph, especially the bit that says "Settings must be reapplied after rebooting."

Is that the driver I am after?
and do I need the windows XP dual-core hotfix as it recognises the two processors

Oh well it's time to eat humble pie I guess. Just went to the affinity settings and they were back to default.

I hope you will accept my humble apology.

Is anyone running the AMDX2 FX62 chip? If so how is this chip compared to the vanilla AMDX2s for Bf2? Feedback would greatly be appreciated!
