It all depends on your specs...if AA slows down your machine, then don't use it. Simple as that.

A better question could be:
-higher settings with no AA
or
-lower settings with AA?

If the OP is playing the game on medium settings, setting AA to 16 certainly isn't an option (which I am assuming is for SLI rigs).

Set to off, the ingame setting & forced x4 AA with nvidia control panel.

yes m8 i run a high end sli rigs only i have a true x16 sli mobo most sli boards only support x8

I would set yours to medium and either x2 or x4

Completly off. Running an nVidia card and pretty "bad" one for BF2. 6600 FYI

i like it on (2x aa) ...even tho it takes down my fps a few...it improves image quality alot ...like the whole game feels diff with it on/off and it makes screenshots look at lot better
