widescreen or no

What do you guys think I should do? I am considering buying a widescreen, but have heard a lot of negative things about them. Should I go for a normal aspect monitor or a widescreen?

Depends what you want to do. Its good for movies due to the aspect ratio, for gaming it depends on whether the games you play support the widescreen resolution of your screen.

If the games you play dont support widescreen resolutions, you'll find your view will be cropped or stretched.

I prefer widescreen, really its personal preference. I find it almost easier to use a widescreen monitor over normal aspect, silly things like not covering icons with a window just seem to make more sense.
Gaming wise i think widescreen will generally be supported in the future, for the BF2 engine its an oversight rather than exclusion and most modern titles do have widescreen support.

Yes its all personal favor. I would buy normal myself. Not with 16:9 ratio.
