Got one too, that's how I shifted from my X800Pro to my X1900GT which run bg2 like ****, so many texture bugs now. A 6800GS should be running bf2 just fine. On my X8000 Pro everything was on high except for the lightning. Texture can be set on high if you have more than 1G of RAM. If not then welcome to swap city.

1 AGP slot, 3 PCI slots so you have room for a graphics & a sound card,

AGP is only used for Graphics cards, PCI slots usually used for all other things, Network Cards, Sound Cards, Additional Port Cards (Firewire,USB)

ok here is my question, what is the diffrence in running the vid card in the agp slot rather then the pci slot?

DON'T GET ONE BUILD IT YOURSELF AT LEAST YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR GETTING. I had two of them waste of money I have benn building computers for about 7 years I get what I want for a cheaper price.

i used to get confused with this too when pci express cards came out, they dont fit into your pci slots at all you either have agp or pci-e (someone is going to prove me wrong tho cos there are one or two motherboards out there with both on) as u have an agp slot you will have to get an agp card unless u go all out and replace the motherboard, processor, graphics card and probly power supply also

When i had my old dell 8250 i had to totaly scrap it when i brought an X850 XT pe reason being first the psu wasnt capable of delivering enough power some crappy 300watt dell thing.. so i thought what the heck ill upgrade the psu..

Turns out u cant u have to buy an official dell psu they use a different standard on the ATX plug u also cant update the mobo as again they use there own standard for mounting screw postions..

I had to throw out the old one and just take out my cpu, pci cards and hdd's the rest was just scrap..


Moral of the story your best just building or getting a custom built pc..

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, thanks a lot guys the info is really helpful well i can live with the fact that i cant run the game on hight for now i played it on my friends pc and he only has an ATI 9250 and i did really good in the game no lag issues or nothing so i guess i just want something a little better then 9250 can you guys help me pick a good a agp card for around 150 thanks.

there is alot of forums around with people recremending cards (even in this one) do some research on e-bay or newegg see what ya can pick up that someone has said is good
