Installed new LCD, now BF2 won't start

I bought a Viewsonic VX922 to play BF2. It's a 2ms gaming monitor however it won't let me play BF2. Everytime I start up BF2 it almost immediately crashes to desktop. No log in, nothing.

Any ideas? I called Viewsonic but of course they had no idea.

p.s. here's the link to the monitor

p.p.s OK, I found out what it was. Someone told me BF2 would not run with DVI. I did some research and found out that is not true. I was using DVI but what I had to do was edit my video.con files in my profile folder to match the 60Hz refresh rate my monitor runs at. Once I did that BF2 loaded.

I hope this helps others who may have the same problem. No need to switch to VGA or to re-install BF2.

Odd, I have never had to edit any files to use my monitors on DVI ports with BF2. Did you install the correct drivers for your monitor?

DVI should actually take any guess work out of running as it should run settings automatically, so it all sounds pretty weird. At least u got it working.

Delete the contents of My Documents\Battlefield 2 and it should work. One of the old settings is screwing things up.

The exact file is probably going to be C:\Documents and Settings\Greg\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001\Video.con. So you can just delete that one if you don't want to lse your control settings.
