I like my dual core Athlon 64 just fine right now, but that sure does make you wonder what the 6th+ generation BF game (or any FPS) will be like with that kind of processing power available.
Its called competition. AMD will come up with something better eventually, and Intel will be the underdog when it comes to performance, then later it will switch again. Just be glad we have two companies competing for your business, otherwise we'd still be dealing with P4's or Athlon XP's at extremely high prices.
To say one will beat out the other is rather ignorant, as they will both beat out the other in some respect sooner or later.
